Kilkhampton Tree Planting

The client asked us to source and install three Himalayan Birch (Betula utilis var. jacquemontii) for the front garden of a residential property.

Client Brief

We were tasked by the client to source some Himalayan Birch (Betula utilis jacquemontii) to plant in the front garden of a residential property. The client’s brief was to create a visually stunning aesthetic. Our client requested we find the biggest trees we could available, that were single stemmed, grown in the UK and had that traditional white paper-like bark synonymous with the species.

THRC Solution

Working closely with our trusted suppliers, we sourced specimen Himalayan Birch that met the client’s exact specifications and budget. Our team carefully installed the trees using natural, rough-cut timber supports with adjustable tree ties to ensure stability while maintaining a natural aesthetic.

To support successful establishment, we installed perforated irrigation pipes to deliver water directly to the root ball and applied a mycorrhizal inoculant to encourage strong root development following translocation.

End Result

Three beautifully formed ornamental trees now frame the front lawn, enhancing the streetscape. The trees are immaculately grown, subtle within the landscape, whilst creating an element of style. To ensure long-term health and performance, THRC will carry out inspections at 6, 12 and 18 months as part of our aftercare programme.
